Video Contest

Rolling Submission PBCC Video Contest

Have a passion for plant breeding that you would like to share with others? Not too bad with a video camera? You should consider showing others the joys of plant breeding! The Plant Breeding Coordinating Committee (PBCC) is offering a year-long video contest to showcase the different aspects of plant breeding to the general public. Our goal is to generate broader interest in your favorite area of plant breeding. The videos can be about any aspect of plant breeding – from germplasm conservation, day in the life of a plant breeder or graduate student, germplasm release, field work, and much more – we just ask that plant breeding be highlighted in some way. The contest will run on an annual basis from September 1st to July 1st and every submission that is accepted by the committee will receive $100. At the end of the submission year, an overall winner will be selected by the Executive Committee of PBCC and the artist will receive an additional $200 while the second place submission will receive an additional $100. The videos should be 3 minutes in length (± 30 seconds) and should not consist of presentation slides (i.e., PowerPoint presentation) or recorded presentations. Again, each submission that is accepted by the committee will receive $100.

Please submit your videos to Duke Pauli (Send Message) or reach out if you have any questions – we would love to hear from you!
