Conference

The annual NAPB conference addresses the methodologies and technologies applied by today's plant breeders, help educate young scientists on the latest methods of developing improved plants for sustainable production, and provide opportunities for participants to network and develop productive collaborations to ensure discoveries are translated into commercially relevant products.

The NAPB/PBCC conference not only brings breeders together from both the public and private sectors (including field and horticultural crops), but it integrates students into the program and encourages their participation, providing an excellent networking opportunity for young scholars to meet academic and industry breeders and future employers.

The conference typically emphasizes graduate student and early career scientist participation, providing opportunities for interaction through tours and networking activities. Educational activities include invited student presentations, student and postdoc poster sessions, an industry-sponsored professional development session, and a session dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
