Scholarships

The NAPB has two established scholarship opportunities to strengthen plant breeding profession by supporting attendance of future leaders at the NAPB Annual Meeting.

Borlaug  Scholarship - aims to enhance the plant breeding profession by facilitating the participation of promising future leaders in the NAPB Annual Meeting. This program is open to upper-level undergraduate and advanced graduate students enrolled in schools in the United States. Each Borlaug Scholar is matched with mentors who are NAPB members and dedicated to the scholars' professional growth.

NAPB-APBA International Borlaug Scholarship Program - is joint initiative of the U.S. National Association of Plant Breeders (NAPB) and the African Plant Breeders Association (APBA), aims to strengthen the pan-African plant breeding community by identifying and supporting exceptional graduate student plant breeders across Africa. The program pairs each Scholar with world-class mentors from both organizations to provide guidance and support in their professional development.
