Dear NAPB members,
Each year we appoint a new NAPB Secretary to the Executive Committee. This person will serve a 4-year term as part of the NAPB Board, rotating through the roles of Secretary, Vice President, President and Past President. We always aim to have the voting completed before the upcoming Annual Meeting (in 2024, it will be July 21-25), when the actual leadership transition commences.
This award aims to empower and uplift students from historically underrepresented groups in the United States who aspire to pursue careers in plant breeding.

Highlights of each NAPB year are the annual meetings. Former president Ksenija Gasic and her team pulled off another great meeting, showcasing the positive momentum and development of our organization. Activities in the coming year will build on ongoing efforts. Importantly, past presidents Hannah Senior and Ksenija Gasic will lead development of the 2024-2028 strategic plan. It will incorporate the 4-pillar structure, proposed at the 2023 NAPB business meeting.
